Hello, Cleveland!
We’re 7 days back from Wacken, and the shock of being home is setting in. The whole trip was a momentous thing for all of us. None of us except Eric had ever even been to Europe, let alone played shows over there. Eric’s been over so many times that he actually coached us through some things to make it easier for us. Wacken was a gigantic party, and we were all invited with open arms. We were treated like a respected, professional band – not like the unknowns that we are. That was reassuring, and it made us feel like we belonged up on that stage, even though we knew in our hearts that the tunes were good enough to get us there. We rode the luck and networking to get there this time. Next time, we’ll be invited on our own merits and talent.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be posting video and photos of the trip…after a few more days of decompression and dealing with all of the bullshit of our personal lives. We’re sorta drifting through wreckage now, looking forward to next high point in the band’s journey.
Prost!

What’s Happening, June 2011
Greetings, all!
Just a quick update to show we haven’t gone into hibernation. Here’s what’s been going on in Kultland:
- “Make No Mistake” video is completed. We aren’t sure where it will be premiered, but the edit is locked. Keep checking back for news on where you can see it.
- Recording is progressing steadily. “Unholy Mountain” is on track for a July 2011 release.
- We have been working hard on a crushing set for Wacken; it’s a good mix of all 3 albums, and totally ripping.
Keep checking back, and don’t forget to check us out on Facebook, Twitter, and all that noise. We will be constantly updating from Germany once we get past the jet lag…and we learned that we will be able to get the professional audio and video from our set on the W.E.T. Stage!

Venomin James appearing at Wacken 2011!
Direct from the Auburn Records website:
VENOMIN JAMES have been confirmed for this year’s edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 4-6, 2011 in the small town of Wacken in Schleswig-Holsteing, northern Germany.
“We’ve dreamed about taking this band overseas since the beginning and now that our very first trip will take us to Wacken Open Air – the absolute largest and most prestigious metal festival in the world – it’s starting to sink in that we are about to take our music to a whole new level”, says VENOMIN JAMES guitarist Joe Fortunato.
“We’ve all heard that Germany lives and breathes metal. We look forward to celebrating with our German brothers and sisters. We’re proud to carry the metal banner for Cleveland, and for Auburn Records, in the summer of 2011. We are both humbled and totally energized to be a part of something as prestigious as Wacken. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us, and we’re going to prove that we’ve earned it!”
